Elizabeth Gearhart is Chief Marketing Officer at Gearhart Law and founder of Gear Media Studios. She co-hosts Real AI Use Cases: Business Owners Roundtable, a weekly podcast with Richard Gearhart exploring how business owners and professionals – including law firms – are practically using AI tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Perplexity in their day-to-day work, from marketing and content strategy to operations and client service.

That hands-on perspective shapes her work at Gearhart Law directly: she leads the firm’s shift toward content built for how AI search tools actually read and cite information – direct-answer formatting, structured FAQs, and clear source attribution – as more prospective clients start their research with AI rather than traditional search.

She holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Colorado and worked as an environmental/analytical chemist at Dow Chemical and Dow Corning before joining Gearhart Law in 2006, later becoming a registered patent agent focused on chemistry, energy, and consumer products. That technical foundation, paired with her marketing and AI work, gives her a rare vantage point most legal-marketing professionals don’t have: she understands both the substance of the IP work and how discovery of that work is changing.
