Before joining The MLC, he worked for Warner Music Group as the Senior Director of WMG’s Catalog Legal Affairs Team. Rick also served for several years as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel at the United States Copyright Office. Helen Smith is our event moderator. Helen Smith is a second year J.D. candidate at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains, NY. She is studying to specialize in intellectual property and entertainment law. Helen interned with Jim Carolan as a catalog manager, learned more about the Music Modernization Act and the MLC, and handled royalty metadata. This past summer Helen was an intellectual property intern at Gearhart Law.
